3 Position safety for the 1896 Mauser. This unit uses a new manufacture cocking piece which requires machining the cocking cam on the bolt, which converts the rifle to cock on open. The bolt shroud utilizes a large gas flange and includes a bolt shroud lock. This unit can be fit to 1895, 1894, 1893 and with some work, 1891's.

These shrouds have been manufactured with best quality in mind. We have used the best materials possible, using US steel whenever possible, machined with fit and finish in mind, reducing time required for fitting and polishing, and carefully heat treated to provide generations of use.

These bolt shrouds are NOT drop in parts and require a modern trigger to be installed such as a Timney. This cost is NOT included in the cost of the bolt shroud. They will require a competent gunsmith and or machinist to install. The purchase price includes the cost to machine your bolt or exchange your bolt for one with the cocking cam cut. When you purchase a bolt shroud, please send in your bolt for machining.
