Receiver produced by Mauser Oberndorf for the Brazilian 1935 contract. This would have originally been a long rifle. Pitting below the wood line and intact Mauser crest on rear bridge. Interwar Mauser receivers are some of the best available in terms of heat treatment and metallurgy. This receiver would be an excellent receiver for a nice working rifle.
